Erectile Dysfunction Treatment in General

Erection disorder should initially be talked over between partners. If they cannot find a solution, they should first talk to their general practitioner. If their GP is not qualified to treat erection disorders, he will address them to a specialist.

Erection Problems: How Can You Make Your Penis Hard?

All men, even those with no erection problems, would probably love to improve their erection and make their penis even more hard. Here are some aids that are very useful in case of a poor erection or even impotence.

Method 1: Make your penis hard with a rubber ring

Immediately after an erection, a man pulls a ring made of rubber down to the base of his penis, where it has to be placed firmly. Blood that flows into the penis cannot flow out of it because of the ring. Thus, the penis is hard until the ring is removed. This method is effective in case of impotence as well as premature ejaculation because it keeps the penis hard despite an ejaculation. The effect of the method is therefore mechanical, but if used too often, it can severely harm the genitals.

Method 2: Make your penis hard with a vacuum pump

This is in fact a cylinder and a vacuum pump. A man inserts his flaccid penis into the cylinder and when the pressure is low enough, blood rushes to the penis, which makes the penis hard. Among others, the weakness of this method is that usually the erection quickly disappears after removing the pump. An electronic device invented by the Japanese was under discussion a few years ago. They invented a small transistor apparatus with two electrodes. One electrode is attached to the base of the penis and the other one is inserted into the rectum. As soon as the current flows through an electrode, conditioned reflexes are triggered, which leads to an instant erection. The erection lasts until the current is switched off and a man can also determine the speed of ejaculation by increasing the frequency of impulses. Emphasis should be placed on the fact that this method wasn’t discussed much, which probably means that it wasn’t effective.

Among other simple aids, there are various tubes, braces and artificial penises made of rubber into which an impotent man inserts his penis and thus penetrates a woman’s vagina. This method is an extreme measure; nevertheless, some men still use it to improve their erection.

Method 3: Make your penis hard with penile prosthesis

In case of incurable impotence (for example, as a consequence of severe diabetes or a spinal-cord injury), and if the partners really want it, men can have a penile prosthesis inserted into the penis, an implant made of silicone or a similar material. The prosthesis is usually fixed. This is somewhat unpleasant for a man, as you can imagine what a permanent ''erection'' means. In addition, men often have inflammations because of constant friction. The surgical procedure itself is rather simple. Placement of a ''bending'' prosthesis is more complicated. A man can activate it by pumping a fluid into it under pressure and thus make the penis hard.

Both methods have proved to be very satisfactory and useful in practice. Men and women who have problems with orgasm and ejaculation can also use other mechanical devices, such as specially thick condoms that reduce friction and thus enable sexual intercourse to be sufficiently long, and more familiar methods like vibrators.

There are also non-mechanical methods for curing erection problems, for example some men improve the erection with nitric oxide.
