1. Anal intercourse is the least practiced form of anal sex.
There are many ways to enjoy anal intercourse. According to Jack Morin, the most common practice is caressing the anus during masturbation and oral and vaginal sex. Some people enjoy the sensation of a finger, while others prefer anal butts or vibrators. Analingus is very popular as well because it can be performed by both men and women. Although many people are disgusted by this idea, others enjoy performing it and receiving this special way of pampering. It’s when taboos are broken that the real fun starts.
2. Anal stimulation, including intercourse, is not painful if done properly.
As the anus has a large number of nerve endings, it can be the source of pain if mistreated, but if treated properly, it can offer great pleasure. When penetration takes place, the anal muscles go into spasm, as if being frightened of an invasion. Pain will appear if the partners don’t wait for these muscles to relax and make penetration completely painless by using the right amount of a lubricant, thus providing a totally new kind of pleasure. Muscle relaxation will also be achieved by physical relaxation, touching, caressing and a massage as well as a mental exercise.
3. Anal sex can be enjoyed even if it has been consistently uncomfortable in the past.
Your desire alone to have anal intercourse doesn’t necessarily guarantee pleasure. Chronic anal tension is the most common cause of discomfort during anal sex (haemorrhoids and constipation). Tension can be relieved by (treatment, of course, or) becoming more familiar with your anus. An ideal opportunity to explore your anus is while taking a shower or bath, or during masturbation when your body is completely relaxed. Deep breathing can also relax your anal muscles. When you learn to relax your anal muscles, anal intercourse is completely painless, even if it was painful in all previous experiences. A man can provides great support to a woman by paying attention and being patient and gentle.
4. Two muscle rings called sphincters surround the anal opening. Each functions independently.
The anus is surrounded by the external sphincter, which you can readily tense or relax, and the internal sphincter, controlled by the involuntary or autonomic part of your nervous system, which governs, for instance, your heartbeat and stress response. This muscle relaxes only if you enjoy anal sex completely. This is the obstacle that you have to overcome to enjoy anal sex and alleviate any potential pain. A vibrator can serve as a great help to relax the anal muscles. If the vibrator is thinner than the penis, that’s even better, as the anal opening adjusts slowly to the new guest.
5. Anal stimulation provides many kinds of pleasure.
Anal pleasure can be psychological or physical. In men, a source of pleasure can be the pressure exerted on their prostate, either as a finger massage, use of a vibrator or penile penetration in homosexual relationships. Psychological pleasure mostly involves a thrilling sensation of performing a perverse act that's still linked to many taboos, which some people find strongly arousing.
6. Anal stimulation can lead to orgasm.
Some people can also achieve an orgasm, which is usually more intense and totally different, during anal intercourse. In most cases, orgasm is achieved by simultaneous stimulation of the clitoris or penis and the anus, where such an orgasm is more intense in both men and women.
7. Diet contributes to the enjoyment of anal sex.
Your diet has a considerable influence on your sensations during anal intercourse. It’s recommended that you eat the foods that don’t hinder the digestion process. On the other hand, penetration can contribute to more discomfort and the tension of muscles in your digestive system. In addition, anyone who receives anal sex is under pressure because of digestion problems and has a hard time to relax the anal muscles.
8. Different rules of hygiene apply to the vagina and rectum.
Unlike the vagina, the rectum isn’t straight, but tilted towards the front of the body. The most thorough way of washing it before having anal sex is an enema. As the anus doesn’t produce lubrication when aroused like the vagina, you need to use a lot of lubricant, which should be based on water, during anal sex. Some people also like to wash their rectum with water before they have anal sex. In any case, it’s recommended that you use a condom for hygienic as well as health reasons.
9. Anal intercourse is not necessarily an act of dominance and submission.
Naturally, many people become aroused in anal sex by the thought that they are submissive to an extent. However, the rule of dominance and submission during anal intercourse is just a myth. Anal sex can be mutually pleasurable while exploring anal thrills. And this applies to both men and women. If the woman is pressured into anal sex, it’s usually painful and unpleasant for her.
10. Anal sex can be perfectly safe, even beneficial.
It’s highly recommended that you use a condom in anal intercourse, especially if it involves one-night stands, as it provides protection against sexually transmitted diseases. At the same time, it’s also reasonable to stress that the penis should never go from the anus to the vagina unless it’s completely clean beforehand. On the other hand, you can pass along harmful bacteria causing dangerous vaginal inflammations and infections.
Such an approach and attitude to anal intercourse will, without doubt, provide only pleasure.
