Charged with sexual assault at the age of 13

Read about an absurd act due to which a 13-year old girl was charged with sexual assault.

In Alaska, this is the first such case that a 13-year old girl was charged with sexual assault and sexual harassment. Together with the charge filled she was taken by the police to Mat-Su Youth Facility.

The 13-year old girl is accused of touching inappropriately two boys on a school bus. They said the girl touched them over their clothing. The parents filed a criminal complaint and the police investigated the incident.

Obviously, the legal system in Alaska is very rigid and completely unreasonable because if the girl is convicted, she will bear the consequences her whole life, which means she will have a criminal record. The question is whether a girl at this age can actually have in her mind the intent to sexually harass or assault someone? What about the boys; did they really think they were “sexually abused”? These are the questions which will be answered by the court and the sentence can have a strong impact on the young girl.
