Gender identity disorders
Transsexuality is a condition expressed by an uncontrolled desire to live as a person of opposite sex. A transsexual person is convinced that his/her anatomical structure is defective and identifies with the opposite physical sex. Transsexuals feel alien to their body and would do anything to change their sex.
Transvestitism, one of the most distinctive sexual deviations, is the practice of wearing clothes of the opposite sex in order to feel like a member of that sex. In comparison with transsexuality this wish isn’t constant. When a person has some sexual interest in cross-dressing we call this phenomenon transvestic fetishism.
Disorders of sexual preference
Fetishism is a sexual deviations where sexual excitement is triggered by an object or one of its parts. Such objects-
fetishes are often in connection with the human body, for example different clothes or specific parts of the body. This sexual deviations is almost exclusively in the domain of men.
Exhibitionism is a constant need to show private parts to strangers in public places. Exhibitionists don’t want actual physical contact with people they flash at.
Another sexual deviations is sadomasochism. It’s a sexual inclination to inflict and receive pain, to torture and to humiliate. A person who is in subordinate position is a masochist, while his/her “master” is a sadist.
Voyeurism is a sexual deviations where a person spies on people engaged in sexual or some other intimate activities, such as undressing or washing. While observing them, a voyeur usually
masturbates and has an orgasm.
Pedophilia is a disorder where an adult person feels sexually attracted to prepubescent or early pubescent children.
We should mention that a lot of other disorders of sexual preference exist, such as necrophilia (sexual attraction to corpses) and gerontophilia (sexual attraction to very old people). These sexual deviations are far less common and therefore more unusual.
