How to get rid of stage fright?

Successful politicians, athletes, musicians and most people who have to deal with public speaking are definitely familiar with the unpleasant anxiety, accompanied by shaky and sweaty hands and a dry throat ... celebrities are not excluded! How do we avoid or prevent our stage fright?

A psychologist from the University of Paisley, professor Brody, said: "Forget about repeating your speech and preparing jokes, have sex before the performance instead." Sex with penetration is supposedly the best way of reducing and getting rid of stage fright and stress.

Professor Stuart Brody started a research study where he wanted to find out how different ways of having intercourse affect the blood pressure in stressful situations. He included 24 women and 22 men in his study that lasted two weeks. These volunteers tried different ways of having intercourse in stressful situations.

Sex reduces blood pressure

The blood pressure of the volunteers whose intercourse included penetration returned to normal faster under stressful conditions than with those who experienced no penetration. The group who abstained had the highest blood pressure. The results of the study were explained by professor Brody, who said that many nerves are stimulated during intercourse. He mentioned particularly those alongside the vaginal wall, which play a key role in some psychological processes.

Why are we nervous?

Peter Bull, a social and political psychologist from the University of York, showed his disagreement with the advice, despite the clear results of the research. He believes that stage fright is a result of not preparing enough for the public appearance and that there are other ways to help us get rid of anxiety of public performances.
