Research about the size of condoms
According to a research, men have the wrong perception about their penis size because most of them buy the wrong size of condoms - too large, of course. An American research was conducted at the University of Kentucky with the help of 440 men. The conditions for the participants were that they were older than 18 years, had at least one sexual encounter in the last three months and they used condom as protection. The head of the research, R. A. Crosby, and his assistants came to the conclusion that men mostly use condoms that are too large for them, which is connected to watching pornographic movies. The wrong size of a condom lessens the pleasure during intercourse and men start to avoid using it because of this, either consciously or unconsciously.
The smallest condoms for the largest penises
Experts from the University of Kentucky suggested to change the names of condoms according to male psychology. The findings of the research were also published in the journal of Sexually Transmitted Infections. According to the researchers, the smallest condom should be called ''large'' and an average penis that would require an average sized condom should be called ''extra-large''. In this way, men's pride would be preserved and it would discourage them from buying extra large condoms.
Too large condoms cause problems
The wrong size of a condom can cause real distractions and lessen the pleasure during intercourse. Problems with maintaining erection and reaching an orgasm can occur - not only with men but also with their partners. The wrong size also causes the condom to burst, which happened to 5 percent of men in the research. They also complained about red rashes, itching and similar skin changes on the penis. Condoms, which do not fit the
size of a penis, slip off more frequently during intercourse, which does not only increase the risk of infections or contracting
sexually transmitted diseases, but also the risk of unwanted pregnancy. If you have recognized any of these symptoms, then think twice about the size of a condom and maybe you will reach a conclusion that you are using larger condoms than necessary!
