The 'invetion' of pants that reveal a butt cleavage (sometimes the butt cleavage didn't have such a poetic name because it was called the builder's butt and we all know what this colorful expression means) is attributed to the deceased creator Alexander McQueen.

Butt cleavage appeared together with low cut trousers, especially jeans trousers, which were lowered from the waist to the hips.

Low cut trousers were at first ideal for flashing thongs but because not all women like to wear them, they revealed the top of their buttocks and the crack between them instead. People's naughty thoughts are responsible for renaming the unattractive builder's butt into a butt cleavage.
