The site geographically covers the US and Canada, a new user can apply for free, but in order to post an ad, he or she has to pay membership which is 13 American dollars.

The critics say that dividing people into beautiful and ugly is very controversial and irresponsible. They have accused the owner of the dating site Uglyschmucks.com that he's making money on account of ugly people. He says that this is definitely true but he adds that he also enables ugly people to find their soul mates, because they often don't have a chance to meet anyone on other dating portals.
