On Monday, they were in for quite a surprise in Canada , when people who were watching Patriot Games on Rogers' AMC got quite a shock. A nine-second clip of hard-erotic pornography suddenly came on the screens. The insert showed anal intercourse, amongst other things. The clip was on the screens at around four in the afternoon and was even repeated twice in the next half hour. The viewers were outraged because something like this should not happen in the afternoon. A 47 year-old Canadian Robert Meredith says that he turned the television off immediately because his two daughters were there when the unfortunate event occurred. He called the cable network that very day, but Rogers' TV told him to file a written complaint. Robert was outraged and demanded their apology and a guarantee that something like this will never happen again.

Director of communications for Rogers Cable Nancy Cottenden said there were a “handful” of complaints from the Barrie city area, where our Robert is also from. “They came in very fast and we acted very fast to get it off. We are investigating, but we may never know how it happened or who did it.” She says she has never experienced anything like this in the seventeen years working for the company and she is also sure something like this will never happen again.
