Using spider venom to treat erectile dysfunction

 

Brazilian scientists have found that the venom of one of the most dangerous spiders called the Brazilian wandering spider (Phoneutria nigriventer) could be used as a drug to treat problems with erection. The spider usually hides in trees and among fruit and it therefore often happens that together with consignments of fruit it wanders to another country.

Spider venom improves blood circulation

 

Brazilian scientists have found that the toxin called TX2-6, contained in the spider’s venom, improves blood circulation and stimulates erection, but is has not yet been tested on humans. However, some victims of the spider’s bite, which can be deadly, claimed that their sex lives had improved after the attack.

 

Scientists in Chile have also proved that a spider’s venom has a positive effect on erection. As their Brazilian colleagues, they want to produce a natural Viagra with the help of spider venom by studying the venom of the black widow spider.
