VIDEO: Islam allows a man to marry a one-year-old!

According to Islamic tradition, a man may marry a girl of any age. And how does this work with sex?

dr. Ahmad al-Mu’bi, a Saudi Arabian man who marries people, said in an interview for Lebanese television that Islam allows a man to marry a one-year-old girl. But the relations have to be postponed until the girl is capable of it. This age is (unfortunately) not predetermined.

To be more precise, dr. Ahmad al-Mu’bi said that there is no bottom limit to tell when a man may marry a girl: " You can have a marriage contract even with a 1-year-old girl, not to mention a girl of 9, 7 or 8. But is the girl ready for sex or not?This varies according to environment and tradition." al-Mu’bi explained. Al-Mu’bi said that in Jemen they married girls (and presumably slept with them) when they were 9,10, 11. In some places, law forbids sex before the age of 18.

Al-Mu’bi explained in an interview that in Islam they follow their model Muhammad. "He married his Aisha when she was six. But they only had intercourse when she was nine."

At the end of the interview he adds that he feels it is better – if he goes away for a long time – to give his daughter’s hand in marriage to a man he trusts and that man then has sex with her when she is ready.
