What Is Erotic?

17.02.2010 | By: S. S.

A sausage served with an egg on each side can certainly be erotic! What is erotic then?

Who defines what is erotic? Erotic is whatever you find an exciting step away from the routine. (jlp)

Our sense of the erotic

If one of the most basic interests of human beings is finding pleasure in sex, this is because we have an inborn sense of the erotic. This erotic function is nourished and developed from our early youth until we’re quite emotionally mature, which is a state many couples don’t get to until they’re quite old.

Adolescents or young couples don’t pay special attention to what is erotic or what is not. Love is enough for them and they don’t try to define it. It’s all so simple to them: “We’re in love, we have a good time together, we love one another without having to worry about technical perfection, we’re enjoying ourselves and don’t try to rationalize what we’re feeling.”

The erotic is becoming more important through the years

This is fine, but things change through the years and habits become cemented. Monotony leads to boredom, except if our imagination – which most often happens – encourages us to start trying with some minor novelties that freshen up our sexuality.

What is erotic?

1. The erotic is expressed through actions, but it must exist in our heads first. We don’t decide about erotic behavior: we’re often like this subconsciously because the erotic is a natural state of mind. The only ones who deprive themselves of the erotic are the ones who reject it as dirty thoughts or even a sin.

2. The erotic develops as a certain state of the mind. Every individual expression of the erotic will awaken the next in our imagination. The variation of the same idea or its continuation will be exhibited in what we do.

3. The erotic is everything that is born in our imagination - everything our mind makes up to create more versatile and magical lovemaking.

4. Erotic means redecorating your room for sex with a velvety atmosphere, different lighting, mirrors, erotic accessories, quiet music, a video, an erotic book and magazine library, a closet with erotic underwear, etc.

5. Putting a camera with an automatic timer and a capability of producing a photo on the spot so you can have a photo of you during lovemaking is erotic.

6. Making love in a forest, car, elevator, on the kitchen table and so on is erotic.

7. Taking a shower together is erotic.

8. Watching yourself in the mirror during intercourse is erotic.

9. A sausage decorated with two tomatoes served for dinner is erotic.
