A fifth of British workers don’t think there’s anything controversial about sleeping with someone to get a promotion

 

A survey conducted by the leading Internet site in the field of employment in Britain showed that one in five workers would rather have sex with a superior for a promotion than earn it with hard work and being chosen from all the other co-workers. The survey included 1003 British people.

18% of Brits would have sex with their boss, 26% of them would only kiss the boss for an automatic promotion, while a further 17% would only do this if the increase in salary was substantial.

Lisette Howlett, Managing Director of the HireScores Internet agency had this to say about the findings of the survey: "Working your way up the career ladder can seem like a daunting task but with ambition and dedication, impressing your manager can come naturally, without the need for underhand tactics. If a little bit of commitment and some overtime puts people off that much, then maybe their current career path is not the right one for them."

Many still can’t get a promotion despite working hard

 

39% of people involved in the survey chose that they would work hard for a promotion, even overtime and without any guarantee for a promotion or a higher salary. Howlett had this to say: "Unfortunately it is also very common for people to work extremely hard to impress their manager but feel as though they aren’t being rewarded for their efforts. If this is the case I recommend arranging a meeting where you can discuss the potential for career progression."
