The movie 9 Songs caused a great stir when it came out.

 

Love that’s almost bordering on adoration

 

The film 9 Songs is a film in which a female American student Lisa (Margo Stilley) and English glaciologist Matt (Kieran O'Brien) fall passionately in love in London. The great love affair is accompanied by 9 rock songs or concerts that the passionate lovers go see during their adventure, which lasts for a few months. Their love is spiritual and physical. They try to convince the viewers of that with explicit sexual scenes. The film caused a great stir when it came out because it contains non-simulated sexual activities, like massaging the penis with the feet, oral intercourse all the way to an orgasm, vaginal intercourse and masturbation. The protagonists adore one another in front of the viewers and play with one another’s bodies for more than an hour (all throughout the film). Their careless love, which can sometimes be criticised as being a bit too monotonous, will attract those viewers who enjoy watching scenes of explicit lovemaking.

Very convincing intercourse

 

Lisa and Matt end their first evening of acquaintanceship with sex, so we already see an extremely sexual scene with an erected penis and frontal nudity. A few minutes later, we are also surprised by some brave cunnilingus. The actors really convince us of the authenticity of the sexual scenes in the second part of the film, when they perform an extremely daring case of fellatio (if we were to judge according to mainstream film industry criteria). The fellatio almost borders on pornography. Lisa’s orgasms are convincing also when she reaches them herself with a vibrator. Another scene that’s very brave is when Lisa massages Matt’s erected penis with her feet.

 

The sexual scenes are extremely explicit.

In the second part of the film, the sexual scenes almost border on pornography because Lisa suddenly gives Matt morning fellatio right before our eyes. His penis is unashamedly becoming bigger in her mouth and Kieran O'Brien becomes one of the very few actors to clearly ejaculate in a mainstream film. The scene is reminiscent of the oral intercourse from the film The Brown Bunny, where Chloe Sevigny gives a real and committed blowjob in front of the cameras to Vincent Gallo.
