”No body is perfect,” says Raphael Sibilla already in the beginning. He is a daring director who takes us over the edge, where only the bravest, the most open and wackiest people dare going. He takes us to a place where one can find intercourse with hermaphrodites, to swinger clubs, to places where you party in morbid masks, to places where a dominatrix whips you, sticks needles into you, rapes you and urinates on your face. The movie takes you to places where group sex occurs in a limousine in the middle of the road, to places where you cut your penis to have more intense orgasms and to places where you can use your body in a performance, and where your body produces so many endorphins that you don't feel any pain any more, even though your back is bloody and blood is dripping from your face.

No Body is Perfect doesn't know what it wants to explain or find out. That's why it rambles back and forth in a confused manner and mixes too many different themes. When we think we are about to hear more about fetishes, we hear more about body art. When we think we are about to hear more about orgasms, we are introduced to a sad story of a hermaphrodite. When we think we are about to hear more about what turns people on, we find out more about what our bodies can take. It's not that Sibilla isn't daring enough. Quite the opposite, he's very daring. He does a close-up of a man being banged from behind by a hermaphrodite. But being daring isn't enough. No Body is Perfect ultimately appears superficial, unfocused and not much of anything. It's just a movie that wants to shock the audience and that at the same keeps forgetting that we're used to anything nowadays.

A cut penis

In No Body is Perfect, nobody comes. Everyone does something just to show what they dare to do with their bodies. But there's a great difference between daring and pleasure. Daring provides for adrenaline, pleasure for an orgasm. All the freaks in No Body is Perfect are there only to look cool and shock us.
