When Alan Parker, the director of Evita and Mississippi Burning, made Angel Heart in 1987, viewers couldn’t believe their eyes. The story is a combination of a classic detective thriller, a cult horror movie and a steamy and wet eroticism that hit them from all sides. Also from those that were completely safe and intact up to 1987. It is a very direct “freak show”, private Lucifer’s party feared even by God himself. The story consists of the extremely deep, direct, harsh and cruel turn of events, intrigues, complications, sex, shocks and remarkable, high-quality black humor that would even make Edgar Allan Poe tired.
