Love at first sight

Spanish director Bigas Luna, who got Penelope Cruz naked in 1992 in the movie Jamon, Jamon, exposes two people in love in the movie Son de mar. The movie is a beautiful love story of a teacher named Ulises (Jordi Molla) and the naughty Martina (Leonor Watling). They get acquainted in a small Spanish town near Valencia. Martina is constantly courted by the local fat cat, but the young girl always turns him down because she is enamoured with the handsome Ulises. Their love is full of passion and carnal pleasures. The events in the movie are very reminiscent of the Greek heroic epic poem Odysseus and Virgil’s Aeneid. Our protagonist also considers Aeneid to be one of the most beautiful works of art. When they marry and get a son, Ulises is presumed dead after a tragic accident. Martina is able to continue with her life until she is surprised by an unusual telephone call after which awakens her body and the nostalgic feeling she thought was long gone comes back into her life. The story merges the movies Titanic, Romeo and Juliet and Unfaithful into one.

A movie full of erotica

When the two young Spaniards get to know one another, there is an instant chemistry between them and the viewers can hardly wait to see them in an erotic scene, where they’re both playful and lost in fantasies. Erotic scenes are hot and passionate and never push the boundaries of good taste. The movie also contains scenes of frontal nudity, both male and female. Ulises adores Martina’s full breasts and fondles them like Javier Bardem did with Penelope's in the movie Jamon, Jamon. Martina always wants to hear verses from the Aeneid being recited during lovemaking. The words arouse her so much that she has an orgasm when listening to Ulises speak. The words he utters illustrate a helpless man caught in a ring of love, from which he can’t escape.
