A young stud conquers an older woman

 
A seductive young stud Antonio (Antonio Banderas) one day shares steamy sex with the rich and aging Isabel (Carmen Maura who starred alongside Banderas in movies such as Matador and Women on the edge of nervous breakdown). As the lady wants more (hardly surprising), she invites him to her house, gives him a car and spends some wonderful days and even better nights in his company. Despite numerous orgasms and the possibility of enjoying fellatio in the pool she suffers from nightmares about rape and decides to see a therapist called Ana Alonso (played by the legendary Victoria Abril). Antonio and Ana soon become lovers and come up with a clever plan to get at Isabel’s money. Ana will stab Isabel’s estranged husband (their marriage exists only on paper) while a drugged Isabel is put into bed with him, making it easy to frame her for the murder. Antonio and Ana manage to execute their plan but the story takes an unexpected turn and keeps twisting and turning all the way to the surprise ending. And no we won’t tell you how it ends. It would spoil the surprise.

Steamy sex scenes and a gripping story

 
Baton Rouge (a small town in the US where Antonio plans to take his speech-impaired little brother) is a film  which takes pride in its precise story-telling and thus prevents any loose ends, awkward outcomes and the possibility to disappoint its viewers. It keeps you satisfied at all times, which is more than you can say for many other thrillers. Victoria Abril (you will like her in Amantes and Kika as well) only lets yummy Antonio  near her with a condom (by the way,  if you thought he only looks good in US movies check out the scene in the pool where his hair’s all wet…) – you’ll see why at the end. If you keep your eyes glued to the screen you will even catch a glimpse of Antonio’s erect penis during the first sex scene with Carmen Mauro. Baton Rouge is definitely a film that is sexy and interesting at the same time, setting it apart form other movies of this type which focus only on nudity and sexual provocation.

When the police tell Antonio he’ll go to prison for 20 years he doesn’t seem to bother. It’s only when someone says that he won’t be having sex for the next 20 years that he decides to make a run for it. It’s true, the man is sex on legs, someone who would (here’s irony for you)  kill for a lay. Baton Rouge is undoubtedly one of the best Spanish films featuring Antonio Banderas and Victoria Abril, so it’s a mystery why they’ve left it lying on the shelf and only started showing it when Banderas became world-famous. If you want an even sexier and daring Banderas watch Never Talk to Strangers where he makes love to Rebecca de Mornay and is perhaps even more convincing. Not to mention the cult film Desperado where he teaches the attractive Salma Hayek a new way of using a horse spur… And a final warning: if you try to con a rich woman using sex you’ll get conned by two women at the same time.
