Let’s Talk About Sex, which is also the title of a hit song by the rap trio Salt’n’Pepa, is a female encyclopaedia, it’s their essence. It’s a female movie that every man should see. This is a movie which uncovers the body and soul of the female world and a movie every man should see at least three times. Let’s Talk About Sex tells men those things about women that no one usually says and the things men can’t even read about in books, the things men will never hear from women, meaning all the stuff women tell one another in toilets and when they’re drunk. Let’s Talk About Sex is a guide to the female body, heart, soul and brain, a guide which portrays a woman from toe to head and from head to toe. This is a guide which will tell you more about women in just over eighty minutes than all the books, shows and your girlfriends combined.

Three female friends

The 1965 born Troy Beyer played the leading role, wrote the screenplay and tried her hand at being director, which means that this was really an intimately personal project, a fine vision by a woman who wanted to show the world what it means to be a woman. Did she do it? Of course – and in such a great and simple way that you find it hard to believe. Troy Beyer, Paget Brewster and Randi Ingerman are three best friends named Jasmine, Michelle and Lena. Just like other women, they’re also burdened by various problems. They’re also preparing to shoot a test talk show about female subjects – with the help of interviews they plan to do with a great number of various women who will confide their romantic, personal and of course sexual experiences and problems to them. While Michelle is a bit more reserved and not so open about her sexuality, Lena is wilder and very direct. And what’s more, the girls also solve their problems when talking to other women and get to know new ideas on sexuality and relationships with men. This is all and it’s more than enough, even though some men might see only pointless chattering and exaggerated dramatisation of the protagonists who talk about everything they can think of and everything women are interested in.
