The cruel reality of war forces her to look for a lover

Tinto Brass, a master of the Italian erotic movie shows himself in a slightly different light. This time he’s more mature as the film doesn’t depend only on naive women and naked behinds. His leading lady is the wife of the owner of a country inn, who dies in the Second World War. After his loss, the young, attractive and lonely Miranda, craving a man’s touch, has sexual affairs with four men – one for each season in the space of a year. She spends winter with a distinguished older minister, spring with a young chauffer, summer with an American soldier and the autumn finds her in bed with a waiter, who works in her inn. The only thing that’s left for her to do is to decide who is the best lover, worthy of becoming her second husband. She is joined in her adventures and flirtations by her friend Leda, who also lost her husband to war. Miranda explains to her that there’s no point in suffering and that she should get over him and embrace new romantic encounters. As usual, Tinto Brass mixes erotic scenes with comic situations, using elements typical for him.
