If you recognize some of the signs described below there is no reason to panic because everyone has a bad week once in a while, but if these signs last for a longer period of time, there is definitely something wrong with your relationship and it is time to ask yourself what it is.

The relationship is over if the phone doesn't ring anymore

I bet you still remember the first days of your relationship when the text messages just wouldn't stop coming and you called your partner just to hear his or her voice? Of course it is completely natural that the relationship changes with time but if your partner does not even mind that you haven't seen each other for a couple of days, you have to ask yourself what kind of future lies ahead. Maybe your partner is avoiding you because he or she does not want to talk about the end of relationship.

If you avoid contact the relationship is over

If your partner is paying less and less attention to you because other things have become more important that spending time with you, then you should be worried. Nowadays everyone is really busy but that should not be an excuse not to spend time with your loved one.

The relationship is over if there is no public display of affection

You are completely right to grow suspicious if there is no public display of affection between the two of you, not even a gentle touch and a kiss. If holding hands has become the thing of the past, then your relationship is probably the thing of the past, too.

The game of hide and seek indicates the end of relationship

When you walk into a room your partner quickly shuts down the computer or the internet browser, the telephone calls are no loner answered in your presence but you hear more and more often that your partner was somewhere else than he or she was supposed to be, then you know something is wrong. If you got the feeling that your partner is hiding something from you, you are probably right and the end of relationship is not far away.

Some of your mutual friends have suddenly started to act strangely and you can feel they have become more reserved towards you. Maybe the reason lies in the fact that they know something you don't and they found themselves in a rather uncomfortable position but don't know how to act.

If your common plans suddenly became one-sided your better half probably has other plans from which you are excluded. If your common future becomes a taboo then it is time to have a serious talk.

There still might be hope if you face your problems quickly enough. It is however pointless to cling to a relationship that is long gone. You should have a serious conversation with your partner and find the best solution for both of you because this is the only way to move forward in your life. We are probably all aware of the fact that love is not enough for a successful relationship, but that it also takes a lot of work.
