Deciding for a career may affect a woman’s personality so much that men often play quite a miserable role next to them. If she’s a career woman at heart, she’s particularly dynamic, active and self-confident. What else can her partner do than play second fiddle and be always on the defensive? No wonder most men run away from modern career women.

Enjoying the battle of the sexes

Modern women who want to succeed in business are much stronger than men on average and like to use this power to assert themselves over men. The things they do successfully away from home, they also try to do in their love relationship. It’s probable that the man they chose to marry is at first pleased with his subordinate role.

Who is usually attracted by career women?

Women who are publicly seen as successful often attract a certain type of men and such men attract modern career women too. Most of these men have grown up with an active and determined mother who has been removing all obstacles from their path since childhood. Their mothers decided things for them and spoiled them. The woman they choose as their partner only has to play a role previously prepared for them.

When a man isn’t a “real man”

We may find especially adaptable, sensitive and effeminate (as some might call them) men among those who are together with very successful women, but this isn’t necessarily the case.

The modern woman and her playboy

 

It’s not rare to find men who tend to be careless (playboys), or weird (let's say nitpickers), or men with pronounced special interests or abilities (for example scholar types) with women who are very dynamic. Strong, powerful women are supposed to protect them and make all the unpleasant decisions for them. The kind of men who fall for career women are considered whipped, but they don’t care if they’re called that.
