Do you remember how it was when you touched your partner for no reason, just by the way? How you grabbed his behind when his head was in the refrigerator? Do you remember how it was when he spontaneously took your hand into his? Are you wondering where it all went? You can bring it back for good!
We forget the small gestures

You can maintain intimacy even when you’re not up for intercourse. The lack of sexual desire mustn’t be a reason for lack of intimacy between you. Small gestures, like embracing your partner across the shoulders, massaging the neck or holding hands are great when it comes to making a connection between you two. These small gestures are easily forgotten in everyday life - we don’t use them enough! When they’re there, they seem obvious, but when they’re not there, we don’t miss them. But they are essential ... We miss the feeling these small gestures give us, but we’re often not aware that it’s the small gestures we’re missing and that we have to start doing them again. Non-sexual contacts are just as important in marriage as sexual ones.

What are the small gestures we forget about?
Holding hands at home and in public and any form of touching hands is very high on the scale of “reaching intimacy”. Don’t forget about
hugs. Hugs make a partner feel warm, safe and wanted. You can also get closer with unexpected kisses. When you plant one by the way, your partner’s pulse will speed up even though you have been together for an eternity. A faster pulse is worth maintaining.
Cuddling shouldn’t always be an introduction to intercourse. Sometimes you should cuddle just for the sake of cuddling.
Why are small gestures so important in a partnership?
Small gestures strengthen your relationship - they create a warm environment, they build trust and increase intimacy. Small gestures make sure that the desire for giving is increasing. These are all reasons for not making these small gestures a thing of the past.
