How to Get Aroused and Survive?

24.01.2010 | By: T. P.

A vulture's claw, dried frog's hindlegs and a hymen: grind and rub them into the armpit! What if it's all true?

In this article, I have ranked a few pieces of advice from the rich mythology of sexual arousal. What works and what doesn't, what is deadly and what is harmless? The road to greater lust can be a double-edged sword.

Many of the more "traditional" aphrodisiacs can be poisonous and fatal. (jlp)

The 10th place goes to the rhinoceros horn. Because it resembles an erect penis - a phallus, it is ascribed the powers to enable a better and longer erection or to cure impotence. Of course this is utter nonsense. Even sadder is the fact that the human wish for sex brought the whole species on the verge of extinction.

The 9th place belongs to the "Spanish fly", which is not from Spain nor is it made from flies. The substance from which the “Spanish fly” is made, is produced by a beetle Epicauta pennsylvanica during mating. When a person takes this ingredient, it causes stimulation and swelling of the urinary tract, which can easily be mistaken for an erection. It lasts up to 4 hours and may have serious repercussions. An overdose may be fatal!

The 8th place is held by alcohol. As a substance it does not really get one aroused, but it lowers expectations and really increases lust with some people. It also makes one lose control, which often leads to violence. Alcohol makes us less sensitive (it numbs our senses) and so some use it to prolong intercourse, but in the long run this is definitely not a good solution. Imagine the smell, the goggling eyes, broken articulation and in addition the vomiting.

The 7th spot goes to chocolate. Unfortunately, it also has no direct effect on lust, but it does activate the brain’s pleasure centre and makes us feel good. As it has no negative effects on sex, I would recommend it as a good source of energy before longer sessions of intercourse.

The 6th place goes to oysters. Oysters are reminiscent of the vagina. They contain a lot of zinc, which is a key ingredient in the production of sperm. Casanova supposedly ate fifty of them for breakfast. Still, research shows mixed results. Two ingredients of oysters cause an increased testosterone level - at least with rats. There is certainly no irrefutable evidence that oysters are a natural aphrodisiac, even though they are delicious.

The 5th place goes to the extracts from three plants, Pausinystalia yohimbe (the agent Yohimbine), Tribulus, and a South American plant Maca or Lepidium peruvianum. All three substances are still being tested, although their supposed characteristics have been known for a long time. You should again be cautious because these substances can have serious repercussions (even death), if they are used too much.

The 4th place is reserved for the blue pill. Viagra definitely works, but it is not an aphrodisiac, as it does not induce lust, but only assists with the erection. It increases the blood flow to the penis and keeps it there, thus keeping the erection going. As any other drug, it has side effects, so read the instructions and warnings that come with it. Most of all, do not buy it from some suspicious “dealer” or from an internet site you cannot trust.

The 3rd place is surprisingly reserved for nothing chemical, but for conversation! Psychoanalysis has discovered and newly defined the subconscious in humans and put instincts and libido as a top priority. The lack of lust is not always somatic (physical) in nature. More than likely it is connected to our psyche. With the help of a psychiatrist or a psychoanalyst, we can reawaken our desires and make our libido stronger. "Darling, should we get psychoanalyzed?"

Physical exercise will swiftly improve your sex life and rejuvenate you! So make your heart beat faster and make your blood circulate!

The 2nd place goes to regular physical activity and fitness. An active body, tight muscles, the smell of fresh sweat – all of this makes us more passionate and acts as a natural aphrodisiac. Finally something that really works and does not kill you, costs nothing and improves every aspect of your life.

The number 1 is, believe it or not, respect for your partners and understanding their needs. Sex is more than just penetration and an orgasm, and there are many ways to satisfy someone. The true basis of a loving relationship and good sex is one and the same: respect. If you don't believe me, try it and see for yourself.
