A woman is in a very special state after childbirth because of the bodily and emotional changes. But that does not mean she is not ready to have sexual intercourse, you just have to choose the right way to do it.

After the childbirth you should have a talk about sexuality

Even though you and your partner have a long-term relationship and you know all there is to know about each other sexually, the period after childbirth can bring many changes. It is therefore necessary to talk to each other and discover what your partner wants sexually after the childbirth. It is a big mistake if a man simply waits for the woman to give him a sign he can approach her sexually again, or if he thinks that his partner's wishes are the same as before the childbirth. The woman also has to make the move and tell his partner what pleases her, what are her fears and worries, her desires and of course, if vaginal intercourse causes her pain or discomfort. If the vaginal pain is present more than six weeks after the childbirth you should visit a doctor because there might be something wrong.

Vaginal pain after the childbirth

The body of your partner will experience certain changes after the childbirth. The surgeon has to make an incision of the vaginal opening before the labor begins so that the tissue between the vagina and the anus does not tear. The procedure is of course painful for a woman and it is understandable that she does not feel like having intercourse until the wound heals. Besides, the incision often makes a woman uncomfortable after the labor which means that she refuses sexual contact. Even though the doctor tells her that she can enjoy in sexual intercourse six weeks after the childbirth, many women who had the vaginal incision are afraid something would go wrong. A partner must not force a woman to have intercourse but he has to be understanding and patient. The vagina can also become swollen after the childbirth and the wound causes a somewhat different appearance of vaginal lips and the whole vagina.

Other problems of sexual intercourse after the childbirth

A partner must get used to a whole lot of new things after the childbirth but that should not diminish his desire and patience for intercourse. Or like the famous Playboy bunny Kendra Wilkinson said after the childbirth: '' A mother needs sex.'' That's right, a woman has sexual needs after the childbirth and that's why she must talk with her partner a lot and find appropriate ways to solve all the problems. If a woman had a cesarean section, the missionary position cannot be practiced because the abdomen pain is present for a long time and she might also be scared that the stitches will open again. The best positions for intercourse after childbirth are definitely those where a woman can adjust the tempo and the depth of penetration herself and where the partner's body does not press on her belly. For example, the woman on top position or from the side, maybe even doggy style if you are gentle enough.
