Did You Ever Hear of Death Fetish?

Did you know that some people are stimulated by thinking about death during sexual intercourse? They have the so-called death fetish, which might be quite bizarre to most of the people.

Death fetish and orgasm

Although it sounds very morbid and unusual, there are individuals who deliberately want to finish their sexual experience with death in order to achieve the greatest pleasure during the climax, experience the most extreme sexual adventure, and feel the effect of adrenalin during orgasm. The general forms used during orgasm are strangling, suffocating, a direct double murder or a group murder. People who take their sexuality and fetishes to that level are always in great danger which involves intentional or unintentional death. In most cases, partners have minor injuries due to, for instance, burning a certain part of the body, dripping hot wax on the body, or cutting the skin with a sharp object. It definitely sounds as something that could have a tragic ending.

Death fetish can be lethal

The case of ex INXS singer Michael Hutchence is the most famous case of suicide while having sex. He was found dead in a hotel room at the age of 37 and at the peak of his career. A belt that Hutchence used for erotic asphyxiation was lying next to his naked body, therefore, used for asphyxiation during sexual arousal. What started as a sex game ended tragically for one of the most promising talents. 

Freud’s theory of death fetish

According to Freud, human behavior is conditioned by two main instincts. The first is Eros (life) and the second is Thanatos (aggression), which is added as a counterpart to Eros. The whole theory results from observations of patients who have sadistic and masochistic tendencies. Aggression can therefore be directed towards oneself or others, which is evident in sex life as well. In people who tend to link orgasm with death, Thanatos is much more active than Eros. Aggression, destruction and mortality cause the highest level of arousal, pleasure and lust in such an individual, and consequently an orgasm that is stronger than any other thrill.

Death fetish and sex on railway track

There is also a story about a couple who decided to have sex on a railway track in the heat of passion. The news about their unusual death shocked South Africa as well as the world. The couple didn’t care about the danger and simply ignored the cries of the conductor on the fast approaching train, and continued to indulge in their own pleasure. The man died instantly and the woman died a few hours later in a nearby hospital.
