Do Depresssed Women Have Intercourse More Often?
According to a research done by an English health magazine, women who suffer from depression have 30 per cent more sexual encounters than women in a “normal” psychological state.

The study included women who suffer from various degrees of depression and women who have no problems with depression. In the study, different factors were taken into consideration, such as status (relationship or
single),
kissing,
foreplay and sexual intercourse.
Research showed that depressed women crave sexual intercourse much more and that they tend to experiment more and have sexual adventures more often. Single women who suffer from depression have more sexual partners and a higher number of single sexual encounters with a specific partner.

The member of the research team who works at Monash University in Australia, Sabura Allen, said: “The results indicate that women who suffer from depression use sex to treat depression. When people are depressed they feel more insecure about their relationships and concerned that their partner may not care about them or find them valuable. Having sex helps them feel that closeness and security.”
Another study, based on moods, showed that people who do not have sex display certain signs of depression, such as anger, frustration, doubts about themselves and these may even turn into a real depressive state.
