If you know how to read facial expressions you can discover the subconsciuos wishes of your partner
The scientists at the Universities of St Andrews and Aberdeen and the Durham University found that men rather choose women for whom they believe prefer short-term relationships, while women tend to choose men who have the facial expression which represents tendency for long-term relationships. For example, women described men with large jaws and small eyes as less reliable in a relationship.
Experts who know how to read facial expressions carried out an interesting investigation
They carried out a research by showing 700 heterosexual volunteers photographs of 20-year old people. The volunteers had to make a choice between two faces and then decide which person on a photo shows a tendency for a short-term relationship and which one shows a tendency for a long-term relationship. Researchers compared the findings with the actual questionnaire filled out by the people in the photographs.
Researchers established that most people who took part in the survey made the correct assessment of the people and their facial expressions in the photographs. Women who want to have a short-term relationship were assessed as more attractive by men, and men who were more open for one-night stands were assessed as more manly by women, but they did not want to have a relationship with them.
Psychologist Dr. Lynda Boothroyd says the following about the research: ''Our results suggest that although some people can guess the
sexual strategy of others simply from their facial expressions, people are not always sure about their judgements, possibly because the cues are very subtle. Yet the preferences for different types of face were actually quite strong.''
