Learn More About the Lesbian World
What kinds of relationships do lesbians form? Are they in any respects different than heterosexual women? Do they ever go to bed with men? Let's peek into the lesbian world!
A person’s sex life has many faces. Although heterosexual relationships are the most common form of satisfying sexual needs of adults, a lot of people are much more pleased with other forms of sexual activity, whether they have casual encounters or steady relationship. Not so long ago experts defined such “unusual” tendencies as perverse - people who showed them were considered ill, abnormal, mentally challenged, and were thought to be needing psychological treatment. Lesbians were no exception.

The world meets first lesbians
The birth of the term lesbian has its origins in the Greek island of Lesbos where the famous poet
Sappho who created songs about the love between women lived around 600 B.C. The latest studies haven’t found any evidence that lesbians are in any way different from heterosexual women, except for the fact that they’re attracted to women, of course. The claims that they’re ill, horny, troubled, biologically inferior, and anatomically and physiologically different are far from the truth.
In 1971, Wilson and Greene conducted an exhaustive study and found that on average lesbians are more educated, socially and professionally successful, and emotionally stable than heterosexually oriented women. The lesbian world thus seems to be the world of women who are remarkably psychologically healthy.
Lesbian sex
The most common forms of
lesbian sex are caressing and stimulation of the breasts, the
mutual stimulation of the genitals by hand and genital-oral touching. The process of arousal in the lesbian world doesn’t differ from the one at work in heterosexually oriented sex. It rarely happens that a woman lies on top of another woman, thus imitating sexual intercourse by mutual rubbing each other’s genitals. Even more seldom, i.e. in only 2% of cases, a woman attaches an
artificial penis to her waist and has sex with her female partner in that way.
Half of lesbians have tried sexual intercourse with men. (jlp)
At least half of lesbians had, or still have, occasional sex with men, but it doesn’t sexually satisfy them in full. Lesbians with heterosexual experiences assure that they undoubtedly have a more intense orgasm in homosexual activity. This is caused solely by the fact that female partners are more tender, attentive, emotional, trustworthy, and creative. The lesbian world is a world where one treads "gently".
Relationship duration
Relationships in the lesbian world last longer than relationships among homosexual men. On average, lesbians have sex with 2 to 5 female partners during their lifetime. Sometimes the partners live together in the same household, but a lesbian may also live with a homosexual man in a rather solid relationship, though they’re unmarried in most cases. In such a “marriage” the woman usually dominates, and sex, if the partners have it at all, happens very rarely, and even then both partners are likely to use an artificial penis.
Homosexuals’ attitude towards themselves
The attitude towards one’s own sexual orientation has drastically changed in recent years thanks to the general liberalisation. Less and less of homosexuals are burdened with feelings of guilt and inferiority. They aren't afraid to try to achieve social recognition of the male and female homosexuality, and they no longer hide their tendencies from the public, at least in the developed countries where homosexuality is no longer punishable.
Tenderness and understanding have a significant meaning in a lesbian relationship. (jlp)
Today, the lesbian world isn't a taboo anymore, and we've come to understand "perversity" in a different light. We prefer to speak of sexual deviations, whereby the common and ordinary shouldn’t be equated with the healthy, and the different and rare shouldn’t be equated with the abnormal. Simply said – sex are people, and every person is to some extent unique.
