Let's Have Sex 101 Times a Year

Certain stamina and innovative spirit are required for 101 days of sex a year. However, the skill is definitely worth to master.

The idea which we will discuss was conceived by Annie Brown. In one of the conferences she attended, she heard about the “100 days” club. You can join this club if you're married or in a relationship and you don't have sex for 100 days. Annie Brown and her partner Doug decided to turn the rule around. Given that Americans have sex 66 times a year, on average, of course, Annie and her partner beat this average in little less than three months. They had to spend some time together every day, and every day they had to find some time for sexual activities.

Doug Brown described his experience as follows: “We learned that you just have to do it. You couldn’t do this for the rest of your life. It was exhausting.”

“It wasn’t just the sex, we were constantly hugging each other. And that has lived on. We touch more,” said Doug. “What we really learned is that we have to take care of each other more and pay attention to each other in ways that we haven't since the early days of our marriage,” added Annie.

Their idea sounds a bit crazy, but is certainly interesting. To make up your mind on a fixed number of days in which you'll have sexual intercourse and stick to it requires a serious decision and great effort that surely improves a relationship. It doesn't involve only sex but also agreement, intimacy and closeness, as well as a commitment to devote your partner a lot of your time. A serious relationship or marriage is in itself a sort of commitment that you'll find time for your partner every day of your life, not only for 101 days.

To force yourself to have sex is probably as foolish as all other things we invented and forced ourselves to do them every day. However, constraints can be useful for the lazy human nature that quickly falls into a state of despondency, despair and weariness. Today more than ever, an individual needs a firm structure in his or her life, and if this means everyday sex, so much the better.
