People have 237 different reasons for sex!

Do not be so sure you know all the right reasons, why people have intercourse with you.

In a study conducted by a group of psychologists from Texas, 1500 students listed 237 different reasons for sex. Beside the usual reasons, such as: “I was horny”, “The person was too sexy to resist”, “I was drunk”, “I was in love”, there were a few answers that truly surprised the researchers. Namely, the students also listed, among other things, answers like “I wanted to get closer to God”, “I felt sorry for the person”, “I wanted to punish myself”, “I used shagging to get rid of my insomnia or my headache.” and “I wanted to change the subject.” Quite a few students wrote that they engaged in intercourse with someone to get a job or get promoted and among the answers there was even the following statement: “I wanted to give someone else a sexually transmitted disease”.

 
The research also discredited the general opinion that men and women make love for different reasons. “Both genders share 20 to 25 reasons for sexual intercourse. The stereotype that men have sex for physical reasons and women have sex for love – our data didn’t really support that,” said the psychologist and the head of research Cindy Meston. 

As a point of interest let us add that 45 percent of men listed a girl having beautiful eyes as the reason for intimacy. With women this answer did not rank as highly. The study was conducted in order to improve the safe sex programmes.
