From the time man tamed the first animal to the present day the relationship between a man and an animal has been subject to discussions and doubts. From those days to today man has established rather close contact with animals. Not only did his survival depend on animals, but many people also gave preference to animals. The latter is particularly true in the present time, because people prefer to have an animal instead of a partner.

In the relationship with an animal, some people go as far as having sexual intercourse with the animal. In that case, we speak of zoophilia. Having sexual intercourse with an animal has always stirred man’s imagination. Such stories exist even in the Greek and Roman mythology. There are probably only a few of you who have not heard about the story about shepherds who made the long days on pastures shorter by having sex with a sheep or a cow, whichever came first. In general, zoophilia is more typical of countryside men.

 

Why would someone have a sexual intercourse with an animal?

Sometimes animals are rather too convenient for satisfying the human need for dominance. They do not to respond or complain, they are not wasteful or demanding, they do everything you teach them, and they can be guided. The senses of some animals are much more highly developed than human senses, but they have not developed the part which makes man human – this is intellect, being aware of oneself, the possibility of choice and autonomous action.

Although some people defend the idea that it is not possible to force a dog or a horse into something it does not want to do, this is not true. Animals largely show strong loyalty and submissiveness to men. Particularly dog can be severely abused and it will not abandon its master. Instead, he will blindly follow him. But can this be considered voluntary consent? Does a child who does not voice the protest against an adult accept such a relationship?

 

People also differ from animals in their imagination in terms of cruelty, which has no limits. Enjoying cruelty is unique to humans and it sometimes makes people even more animal-like than animals. Regulations prohibiting sexual intercourse between a man and an animal show that the society intervened and prohibited such behavior. Therefore the relationship between a man and an animal is not to decide for each person alone.
