1. Pregnancy problem: Urinating troubles
Frequent urinating is a common pregnancy problem and it occurs because the uterus is pressing on the bladder. If an
inflammation of the bladder occurs it has to be treated as a serious problem. If it is not treated a premature birth can occur. The most frequent symptoms of this pregnancy problem are painful or burning urinating, but some women do not experience any symptoms despite the inflammation. It is therefore advisable that a woman controls her urine from time to time.
A woman can also suffer from incontinence because the pelvic bottom, which has the function of supporting the bladder, does not successfully hold the urine. The easiest way to notice incontinence is if your urine leaks during sneezing, running or walking. This pregnancy problem requires medical help but it is also advisable to strengthen your vaginal muscles with
Kegel exercises.
2. Pregnancy problem: Haemorrhoids
Haemorrhoids often appear during pregnancy and the reason is similar to all other pregnancy problems: hormonal changes and the pressure of the fetus on the uterus. The veins around the anus are swollen and that's the reason haemorrhoids occur inside as well as outside the bottom, but they can also cause other unpleasant things: bleeding from the anus, itching and pain around and inside the anus, the feeling of swelling around the anus, unwanted leaking of excrement.
Some haemorrhoids disappear after the birth but some women have problems for years later. Medicines are usually prescription-free and in the form of different ointments.
If haemorrhoids are very big they sometimes need to be removed surgically but it happens very rarely. Sometimes washing the area with warm water and cooling it with ice cubes also helps.
3. Pregnancy problem: Heartburn
Heartburn is an unpleasant, burning sensation in the mouth and throat due to acid indigestion. Many women experience it for the first time during pregnancy. The cause of this pregnancy problem hides in hormonal changes where progesterone plays a key role.
The placenta produces greater quantities of progesterone hormone during pregnancy because it helps to relax the muscles of the uterus. Pregnant women are advised to avoid food which can cause stomach troubles and increases the level of acid. They should avoid: alcohol, caffeine, chocolate, food with a high presence of acid, greasy and very spicy food.
During meals it is advised not to drink too much because it can upset the stomach. It is recommended to sleep in a manner where the upper part of the body is higher than the belly because it reduces the possibility of stomach acid to rise. Before going to bed you should not eat too much and wear comfortable clothes which do not put any pressure on the belly.
4. Pregnancy problem: Painful gums
Pregnancy hormones can cause gums to bleed more often so do not be afraid if it happens to you. It is necessary to act upon the problem with an appropriate toothpaste, more tender care and regular visits to the dentist. Even though this pregnancy problem might not seem dangerous, parodontosis or loss of teeth can occur as a result.
Pregnancy does not mean that a woman should be sexually abstinent, but some advice is always welcome.
