How is it possible to "fracture" your penis?
To understand how the penis is injured, it helps to know a little about the anatomy of the penis. The penis consists of two large areas and one small area of erectile tissue. This is spongy tissue that becomes engorged with blood during an erection and increases rigidity of the penis. Spongy erectile tissue is surrounded by special tissue, membrane, called the tunica albuginea. The aim of this tissue is to serve as a lining that holds everything in place. Penis fracture occurs if there’s a crack in the membrane. When the membrane is ruptured, you can hear a distinct ‘cracking’ sound and feel a sharp pain. The penis starts swelling quickly and a haematoma appears at the fracture site. The penis slightly bends and an intense pain appears.
If you’re wondering how that occurs, here are a few answers. Erection and abnormal force applied to the penis are almost requisites for a fracture. Injuries are most often sustained during sexual intercourse or masturbation. The accident usually occurs during rough sex where the penis slips out of the vagina and hits either the pubic bone or the region between the vagina and anus. It’s also possible that a woman strokes the penis too roughly and, consequently, fractures it. In principle, you have better control in masturbation, but people masturbate with many different things and in hundreds different ways. However, we don’t intend to excite anyone’s imagination. We leave that up to our readers.
What to do if you sustain a penis fracture?
A penis fracture requires urgent medical assistance, which means you have to go to the hospital immediately, while you alleviate pain and swelling with ice and cold compresses. The sooner you receive medical assistance, the greater is the chance that you won’t have any permanent consequences. On the contrary, you can suffer from erectile dysfunction. Don’t think that the situation will improve itself. In the best case, you’ll have painful erections and a bent and scarred penis until the end of your life if you don’t seek medical assistance. The surgeon will sew the damaged tissue, and if the intervention has been timely, it’ll leave a small scar. It takes a long time for the tissue to regenerate and sexual relations are impossible in the meantime. It usually last a month to heal and be ready for action again.
There aren’t many cases of penis fracture, but it can occur. Iii can also occur during sleep, and in that case, you squash your penis. Some men even sue their partner. There are also many cases of penis fracture connected with office desks. But that’s the topic for another section. It’s important that you’re aware of the possibility of penis fracture and that you react quickly and decisively because only in this way you can avoid any irreparable consequences.
