Erectile dysfunction can be a cause of distress
Men react very emotionally to erectile dysfunction. One small ‘accident’ can often make them afraid of any future sexual intercourse.

What is an erection?
To understand the effects of the factors that cause
erection dysfunctions, it’s good to understand the erection itself. When a man has an erection, a complex process is triggered both in the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system. There are also some psychological, hormonal and vascular (blood circulation) factors, other stimuli and the functioning of the penis itself to consider. An erection happens due to the effect of visual and auditory stimuli or because of the effect of smell and touch. The stimuli send a message to the brain and the nervous system, then blood is gathered in the penis, which causes and maintains an erection. When the process of an erection is disrupted by a physical or psychological factor, erectile dysfunctions occur. They can be exhibited as an inability to have or maintain an erection for the purpose of satisfying a sexual partner. Generally, the factors for erectile dysfunction are divided into two main groups: psychological and physical factors.
Psychological factors
Almost every man faces the inability to have an erection due to psychological factors at least once in his life because the tension of everyday modern life can create these factors. It’s important that anxiety and stress don’t happen because of this, which would disrupt almost every sexual intercourse afterwards. Some men experience erectile dysfunctions due to age, or they’re a result of depression or some other psychological problem. Stress at work or at home, losing a loved one, troubles in the relationship, being tired and worries which make the man unable to relax even in the intimate moments also count among the psychological factors. If the psychological problems go on for a long time and affect the sexual life of a couple, it’s a good idea to visit an expert who can help reawaken your libido.
Physical factors
When discovering the physical factors for erectile dysfunctions, the doctor will first try to eliminate the options of high blood pressure, diabetes, diseases of the heart and vascular system, a low level of male hormones and prostate cancer, all of which also have a negative effect on an erection. Cirrhosis of the liver, faulty activity of kidneys, too much iron in your blood and obstructed breathing pathways can also affect an erection. Many of these physical factors can be reduced or removed with the right diet and physical exercise. Various diseases of the nervous system also affect an erection. With men above 50, the condition of the veins also affects an erection. Long-term smoking has a certain effect on erectile dysfunctions as well. A hormonal imbalance of testosterone and prolactin can also contribute some negative effects.
Traumatic effects
With traumatic effects on erectile dysfunctions we don’t mean everyday trauma, but the trauma the male penis goes through. This also includes Peyronie’s disease, which causes a painful curvature of the penis, which has very unpleasant consequences on sexuality. The tissue of the penis can also be destroyed with a traumatic blow during an erection, which can cause the penis to break. In this case you have to see a doctor because this can have a long-term effect on the erection and the pleasantness of sexual intercourse. Long bicycle rides can also cause erectile dysfunctions, but the manufacturers of newer products have taken care of that as well because the seats on new bicycles put less pressure on the testicles, penis and the part between the testicles and the anus.
Only when the reasons are discovered can you start dealing with the problem with the appropriate method.
