Pregnancy is the perfect time to begin with a healthier lifestyle, which should also include eco awareness. It will not only benefit you and your baby but also the environment. You will therefore kill two birds with one stone by following these four easy steps towards a healthier lifestyle.
Green pregnancy step #1: Eliminate all the chemicals from your food
Make sure that your food does not contain harmful antibiotics, pesticides and other chemicals. If you eat meat, choose the type that does not contain antibiotics and hormones. In general, it is best to consume eco food.
Green pregnancy step #2: If you drink tap water, filter it first
Filter the tap water before you drink it and use glasses and bottles made of glass. Re-used plastic bottles secrete harmful chemicals which is why it is best to avoid plastic altogether.
Green pregnancy step #3: Be careful with your make-up, face and body products
You should avoid using nail polish and remover during pregnancy. Try to use make-up and moisturizing products which contain as little harmful chemicals as possible. If you dye your hair, maybe now is the right time to think about quitting or at least start using eco hair dyes.
Green pregnancy step #4: Choose biologically decomposable detergents
Replace the non-ecological detergents for those which do not contain ammonia, bleach and other harmful ingredients. In this way you will help to protect the environment and make your home as pure as possible for your baby. It is even better if you use completely natural cleaning products, for example vinegar, lemon juice and similar.
