Women, do not forget to take care of your intimate hygiene on the journey! (Photoxpress)

Are you going on a longer journey, maybe even to some more exotic countries where it is hot all year? The the place is perfect for development of bacteria and infections. In this case, it is good to check a few facts and make a good plan about your intimate hygiene before you go.

Natural materials are very important for intimate hygiene

We are of course talking about underwear. If you are going to a country where the weather is hot, then it is most advisable to wear cotton panties. Synthetic materials are the perfect place for development of bacteria, especially if your intimate parts are wet all the time because of the heat. You should also make sure to change your underwear at least once a day to keep your intimate parts healthy and fresh. If you use daily sanitary napkins at home all the time, do not forget that they inhibit the skin from breathing properly and they are made of synthetic materials, so it is best to avoid them.

Do not forget about the products for intimate hygiene

Products for intimate hygiene are necessary for every traveler. Take a lot of intimate handkerchiefs with you so you can use them in case there is no running water or if you have a long journey before you. You should also pack a soap for intimate parts, so that your pH factor stays in balance. This will help you avoid unpleasant itching which can result in vaginal and fungal infections. If you run out of soap on the journey and there is nowhere you can buy it, a natural plain yogurt is a good solution.

Intimate hygiene during the period

If you are going on a longer journey, you will probably have your period on the journey, too. Therefore you have to decide if it is better to use tampons, sanitary napkins or maybe even a menstrual cup. You will be able to find tampons or sanitary napkins almost anywhere in the world, but maybe they won't have your favorite brand. If you have enough space in you traveler's bags, it is not a bad idea to take your intimate products with you. If you do not have the opportunity to wash your hands with a soap on the journey, it is most hygienic if you use sanitary napkins. You can replace them quite effectively without washing your hands, which is not true for tampons or menstrual cups.
