Marathon sex can result in abrasions and bruises
In the heat of passion, it can quickly happen that you hit yourself against something hard or sharp, so bruising is fairly common in sexual intercourse. Because of the release of the hormone oxytocin during sex, you may not even feel anything, but the pain will remind you of your marathon sex for the next few days. The most common abrasions zones include the knees, elbows and back, especially if the bed is replaced by a carpet or the kitchen table.
Muscle and joint pains occur often after marathon sex
As in all other cardiovascular activities, lactic or milk acid accumulates in the muscles during sexual intercourse, especially a marathon sex, and causes muscle fatigue or muscle soreness. Because of an unusual burden on the joints in certain sexual positions, pain in the joints is very common as well. The missionary position may be the hardest one because a man has to lean on his hands, which causes pain in his wrists, while a woman often experiences muscle cramps or a strain in the inner thigh muscle because of her widely spread legs.
Genital abrasions after marathon sex
Long-lasting vaginal penetration during marathon sex can be very unpleasant or even painful, for women in particular. The friction caused by the penis rubbing against the vaginal walls without a sufficient amount of a lubricant can cause minor lacerations on the tissue that are accompanied by a burning sensation. Use more lubricant, or even better, stop penetration for a moment and devote your attention to other forms of lovemaking.
Marathon sex can cause dehydration
Sexual intercourse increases your heart rate and body temperature that your body tries to lower by excessive sweating. That’s why you lose a lot of fluid containing salt that needs to be replaced by drinking water or isotonic drinks. This is particularly important if you drink any alcohol beverages before or during sexual intercourse. If you have a minor headache, which is the first sign of dehydration, drink at least two glasses of water and then you can pick up where you let off.
Urinary tract infection
After having a several hour session of marathon sex, some women get a urinary tract infection as a result of a bacterial infection of their urethra. If you want to avoid an infection, it’s recommended that you empty your bladder and drink plenty of water before and after sexual intercourse.
Back pain
Spinal pain can be the result of a blow, an awkward move or an unnatural body position during sexual intercourse. You can avoid that by having marathon sex in sexual positions that don’t require special acrobatic abilities and sudden moves, while a sensual massage or a hot bath can also be helpful.
Nerve damage
The human body can bear a lot, but the most sensitive parts offering the most pleasure require caution. Stimulation that is too rough, too long or too direct can be painful and have harmful effects. Listen to your body and tell your partner when, where and how he should work on the delicate parts of your body.
Weak eyesight
During sexual intercourse, your blood pressure increases and it therefore often happens that the blood vessels in the eye burst, which has a short-lasting effect on eyesight, but luckily, such an injury heals rapidly.
Heart attack
Newspapers often publish stories about unfortunate people who suffered a heart attack during sexual intercourse. Although it’s true that increased physical activity, especially in older people, can cause a heart attack, these cases are very rare in reality. On the contrary, regular sex improves the health of your heart.
Fractured penis
Men can’t literally fracture their penis because it doesn’t have any bones. However, when an abnormal force is applied to the erect penis, a tear is made in the thick fibrous coat surrounding the corpora cavernosum tissue of the penis. A
fracture of the penis is also accompanied by a cracking sound, pain in the penis and swollen testicles. In that case, you have to stop marathon sex and seek medical attention immediately.
