Why is childbirth a painful experience for most women?
The most common information on childbirth given to a woman is that it’s a very painful and unpleasant experience. Childbirth is hardly a relaxing experience given the fact how a woman gives birth, but that doesn’t mean there are no ways of making it more pleasant. A painful and unpleasant birth experience mainly shows that women are unable to truly relax during childbirth. In most cases, a more pleasant birth experience is reported by women who decide to have a natural birth or give birth at home, in a familiar environment. A quick birth in unpleasant conditions where the main attention is not focused on the natural course of the birth, but the time schedule of employees, is an experience that can’t be compared with childbirth as it should be. The question is why Mother Nature would make the birth experience so unpleasant since it’s of vital importance to the existence of the human race.
Natural analgesics
For the purpose of being relaxed as much as possible during childbirth, Mother Nature has ensured that more prolactin and oxytocin and a lot of beta-endorphins are released during labour to make sure that a woman doesn’t feel excessive pain while in labour. The feeling of pain increases because a woman expects the pain t o appear – in addition, stress is increased and as a result all the muscles in the body, including the vaginal muscles, become stretched.
Why is it so difficult to accept the fact that a woman can achieve an orgasm during childbirth?
The fact that an orgasm during childbirth is something unheard of can be attributed to the fact that for a very long time the female orgasm was a taboo on which our attention has been focused only over the past few decades. The second reason is that an orgasm during childbirth is simply inappropriate and outrageous because of the special bond between the mother and child – and some people take it too seriously by believing that it’s the child that contributes to the orgasm of the mother. The connection between childbirth and sex established by an orgasm during labour is too direct. For the same reason, it’s considered inappropriate if a woman feels any particular pleasure during breastfeeding. Some people, who just can’t accept the idea that the birth experience could be pleasant as well, claim that these women are probably masochists and enjoy pain. It’s important to stress that orgasm isn’t the main goal in childbirth, but it’s highly likely to occur and we should avoid this topic.
Does masturbation have effect on birth experience?
What kind of methods did midwives use in the time when there were no painkillers? One of the secret tips never discussed aloud is masturbation. Masturbation doesn’t trigger labour, but it makes it more pleasant. If a woman masturbates, she stimulates the release of large quantities of oxytocin, which is significant for labour. The woman is therefore more relaxed and her vaginal muscles are no longer tense and start contracting as during an orgasm.
