With an increased availability of web portals and products more people are becoming addicted to pornography. If pornography in the past was not so easily accessible and mostly payable, today it can be reached quite easily and it is also cheaper, if not free of charge. A study published in the magazine Pediatrics showed that the first contact with pornography starts with teenagers. 42 percent of web users had the first contact with pornographic content between the ages of 10 and 17. Even though you might picture a pornography addict as a lonely freak who watches porn in the basement, the reality is different.  More people addicted to porn than you might imagine.

Even though pornography addiction is not included in the Stanford classification of diseases, like for example addiction to alcohol or gambling, it manifests quite similarly as every other addiction. Nowadays the experts take the pornography addiction more seriously because the consequences of a person addicted to pornography are serious and unpleasant. The compulsive act of watching pornography films can cause a person to be daily late for work and gradually loose a job or not to be able to reach an orgasm without porn films or magazines. In every case the addiction starts to negatively influence the personal, business, social and emotional life of a person.

What do to if you are addicted to pornography? 

If you have noticed that your life revolves around pornography you should take the matter seriously. Even though the addiction to sexuality and pornography is not treated as a disorder, it is definitely a compulsion and it is best to consult a qualified expert. You can also put a software or a filter on your computer which will block all the pornographic content  while you surf the internet. Even though it may not sound as the best solution because if you know how to enable the filter then you also know how to disable it but you will nevertheless gain some valuable time to think things over and decide differently. The first thing to do if you are addicted to porn is to confess your addiction and then get some professional help. You should also keep in mind that it takes a lot of strong will to overcome the addiction.
