Logos on cigarette boxes constantly remind us of the dangers of this bad habit, which may cause, among other things, problems in your love life. Studies have shown that smoking can be a great contributor to causing erectile dysfunctions.

The study conducted at the University of New Orleans is only one of many to research the connection between smoking cigarettes and erectile dysfunctions. But it is a unique study, because   the results show a connection between impotence and other factors as well. Both smoking and erectile dysfunctions are frequently linked to atherosclerosis.

Atherosclerotic disturbances of the circulation are a disease of the arteries, which are also called hardening of the arteries. These are by definition chronic degenerative diseases of arterial walls, which fill the arteries by depositing fat cells on the arterial walls, give out no warning signs and over decades disturb the circulation and also cause erectile dysfunctions.

The study which included 4,764 men, whose average age was 47 years, showed the following:

 

Men who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day have a 60 percent higher chance of experiencing problems with erection (jlp)

• Men who smoke more than 20 cigarettes a day have a 60 percent greater chance of erectile dysfunction in comparison to men who have never smoked.
  
  
• Fifteen percent of smokers or men who used to smoke have at some point experienced difficulties with erection.
  
  
• Men who smoke or used to smoke have a 30 percent higher chance to experience problems with their erection.
  
  
• Among men who have never smoked there are 12 percent of those who have erectile disorders.

The results are therefore another reason why you should quit smoking and use you cigarette breaks for engaging in intimate games with your sweetheart instead.
