The Correct Use of Condoms
Pregnancy usually occurs because you do not use condoms consistently, and not because a condom broke. Learn more about the correct use of condoms.
The correct use of condoms means their use in every sexual intercourse. (jlp)
Research showed that potential damage to a condom is not the main reason for “failing”, which results in pregnancy or the spread of a
sexually transmitted infection. The reason for the latter is only 2 per cent. According to research, rare and incorrect use of condoms is a much larger problem. Pregnancy is to a large extent the fault of irregular use of condoms or their inconsistent use in every sexual intercourse.
In case of regular and correct use,
condoms are 98 per cent effective in preventing pregnancy, according to research. They also showed that the above percentage is much lower in those who use condoms in the first year, amounting to only 86 per cent.
If you use a condom correctly, the possibility of HIV infection is less than 1 per cent. (jlp)
Researchers also studied the success rate in preventing
HIV and found that in couples (where one partner is HIV positive and the other is not) who regularly use condoms the possibility of HIV infection is less than 1 per cent, while in couples who do not use condoms on a regular basis the possibility of the infection is between 10 and 14 per cent.
