Women with Turner syndrome usually don’t have any desire for sex
Turner syndrome is a severe genetic abnormality in females, which affects one in 2500 women.

People have always yearned for individuality and to be noticeable or different. Sometimes they go to extremes with their desires to be noticeable. Despite our strong desire for individuality, the variety with which Mother Nature surprises us is often difficult to accept. This time, the topic is one of the Nature’s special features – Turner syndrome.
What’s Turner syndrome?
Turner syndrome is a genetic abnormality affecting only females. Instead of two chromosomes XX typical of women, or the XY chromosome typical of men, women with Turner syndrome have only one X chromosome. The other chromosome is often absent or damaged. Such an abnormality has a frequency of one in 2500 girls.
What are the signs of Turner syndrome?
Female sexual characteristics are present, but they're underdeveloped. Girls born with obvious signs immediately undergo a blood test. Some girls are tested only when it’s clear that their development isn’t predictable. The presence and dimensions of symptoms depend on the degree of damage to the X chromosome or its absence. If nothing else, the absence of menstruation (amenorrhea) arouses suspicion. Sexual maturity doesn’t occur at the expected time. The ovaries are underdeveloped and rapidly lose their ability to produce eggs, so infertility is one of the most typical symptoms. Other physical features present in women with Turner syndrome are: puffy hands and feet, loss of hearing, weight gain, poorly developed breasts, broad chest, short stature, short fingers, diabetes and high blood pressure. They may also have heart and liver diseases. The average height of the woman with Turner syndrome is about 4.5 feet (140 centimetres). Women also have problems with their joints – more specifically, with their elbows, which means that they can’t stretch their arms along the side of their body and when they stretch them, they’re turned outwards.
A diagnosis is made on the basis of how (un)distinctive symptoms are. (jlp)
Treatment for Turner syndrome
A diagnosis is made on the basis of how (un)distinctive symptoms are. Some females are diagnosed at birth, while others are diagnosed during adolescence when the symptoms manifest themselves. This is a genetic abnormality and no treatment therefore exists at present, but you can have influence on some of the symptoms. Patients can treat their short stature with growth hormone. The development of secondary sexual characteristics is enabled by estrogen hormone replacement therapy, but the therapy doesn’t treat infertility. In 30% of girls who suffer from Turner syndrome, the X chromosome is missing from only some of the cells, so they have fewer symptoms because there are still enough cells that have the normal pair of X chromosomes. Turner syndrome isn’t associated with psychological disorders, but they can occur as a result of it because a lot of girls have problems with self-image and self-confidence as well as infertility. Turner syndrome isn’t a hereditary condition.
Turner syndrome and sex life
It’s one thing to talk about health aspects, but the consequences that a woman has in her everyday life, particularly in her sex life, are often the topics that aren’t discussed. Turner syndrome doesn’t have a direct influence on sex life, but it can have a great indirect influence. Turner syndrome affects health in connection with sex. The consequences of these problems can also be felt in a relationship. Some women don’t show any interest in sex. It’s important that they resolve this problem because it helps resolving numerous other problems connected with Turner syndrome. One of the solutions is physical exercise because it improves mental wellbeing as well as sexual wellbeing. Exercise speeds up the release of endorphins that also contribute to greater openness. Exercise also contributes to better self-image and makes you look more beautiful and sexier. In life, you always have to make the most of what you have.
