Eco-friendly and cruelty-free products are in great demand nowadays. So why not try a vegan condom?

The advantages of vegan condoms

RFSU vegan condoms are made from natural rubber latex which is reneewable, raw and natural material. Vegan condoms do not cause allergies and can be recycled or even thrown on a compost. Natural methods of family planning and abstinence are definitely the most eco-friendly forms of pregnancy prevention but vegan condoms are also one of the better options. They are a reliable form of contraception and they also protect us from sexually transmitted diseases.

How are vegan condoms produced?

Renewable, raw and natural rubber latex from which the vegan condoms are made comes from plantations in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. A rubber plant which is at least five years old gives approx. 100g of latex milk. Some artificial substances are still need to be used for processing  but they cannot be replaced with natural substances that would ensure the same quality of a product. Each vegan condom is electronically examined and tested at the end of the process, but unfortunately the condoms with mistakes cannot be transformed back into raw material, but they are put to waste.

Vegan condom package is also eco-friendly 

Each RFSU vegan condom gets a serial number that we can use to follow the path of a condom back to the place it was produced. Each condom is packed in a PP-foil which is surrounded with silicon oil, while other producers still use the artificial foils with aluminium. Unfortunately, silicon oil cannot be replaced with a similar natural substance because it would probably oxidate in time and thus destroy the latex as well as the condom. The whole procedure of testing the quality is done without animal experiments. The package made of paper or cardboard is printed with non-toxic and eco-friendly colors.
