So, why shouldn't you admit that you've cheated on her?

… because it was only a fling

You were both tipsy, there was chemistry in the air and because you’re made of flesh and blood, you took advantage of the opportunity. You realized your mistake in the morning, but whatever happened, happened, and you’re convinced you’ll never do something like this again. Why would you admit that you made a mistake and cheated on your partner with some bimbo for whom you feel nothing? You can lose the chance for love with someone who means the world to you.

… because she doesn’t want to know this

Even though it’s true that there’s no room for secrecy in a relationship and that honesty is very important, you might have to make an exception. Women simply don’t know what’s in store for them if men become brutally honest. If you reveal your deepest, darkest secrets to her, her feelings for you will probably change forever. Spare her the pain and leave her in blissful ignorance. What you don’t know doesn’t hurt you.

… because you don’t want to make your life miserable

You admitted your betrayal and she managed to forgive you after a few months of apologizing. But that’s only your impression. She’ll never forget. Are you sure she won’t mention your slip-up during every argument you have? Your moment of weakness will hang over you like a dark cloud for the rest of your life, while she has an excuse for all her mistakes.

… because she’ll get back at you

Not many women are able to resist the chance of payback. After she destroys a few things you like, she might want to have steamy sex with a co-worker just to get back at you.

… because she’ll probably leave you

This is the most likely scenario. She’ll be wounded, shocked and outraged and will realize that she can’t be with you anymore. She’ll break up with you and have all of your common friends on her side. Living with a guilty conscience doesn’t sound so difficult anymore.

… because you love her

There’s probably a good reason why you’re in a relationship with her. You’re convinced you love her. If that wasn’t the case, your one-night stand would quickly turn into something more. If you didn’t have any feelings for her, you wouldn’t be feeling such guilt. Make it up to her and become a better partner. Show her how much she means to you.

… because you’d be confessing out of selfish reasons

Your confession will benefit only you. You’ll get rid of the burden which is on your shoulders and you’ll leave your partner with questions, doubts and despair.
